In my case, it automatically detected the need for a Canon printer driver (the correct one at that). Install the Bonjour software from Apple:Ħ. Get the correct Windows driver from the Canon Web site and install on the Windows machine.ĥ. Double check the correct driver is being used, by selecting the newly created printer object (MX310 in my case), select Options & Supplies., and under the General tab, make sure the driver version is that of the CUPS (in the case of the above link, it will be 10.1.2.0)Ĥ. When creating this object, under the "Print Using" drop down, I have an option for Canon MX310 Series and Canon IJ printer - I chose Canon IJ Printer.ģ. I had to recreate the printer object using the new driver. On the Mac, install the CUPS drivers and restart.Ģ. Of note, I'm using the MP310 rather than the MP210ġ. Prior to my troubleshooting, I was using the non-CUPS drivers (v 6.9.3) and couldn't get it work, even while following Jason's directions. The only thing I can add to his post, is to make sure that you are using the CUPS drivers from Canon (v 10.1.2.0):
